Hildegarde Schmidt is the maid of Princess Dragomiroff. She has no motive, but interesting evidence. During the night while the train stopped, Hildegarde's mistress was asking for water and blankets. NOTE: Neither do her or Princess Dragomiroff own any scarlet night gowns. After fulfilling the orders, Hildegarde made her way out of the compartment. On her way out, she was nearly knocked over by a train conductor who coincidentally fit the description of the murderer. Small, dark, wearing a conductor’s uniform, and had a feminine voice. The detectives further brought in all three conductors, but according to Hildegarde none of them fit the description of the man she saw.
